most of the music on my albums now has an exclamation mark next to them.
They will not play and I can not find them despite following the instructions to locate.....
Is there a quick fix for this I seem to have lost the majority of my music....

Hello stemc01 and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty with music that has gone missing from your library. Did this happen after you switched on Sync Library?
If songs are missing from your music library after you turn on Sync Library - Apple Support
If this is not the case and the content came from a synching with an iTunes or Music app on a computer, you can re-synch to put the content back on the iPhone.
Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support
If the content consists of iTunes Store purchases, start here:
Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books - Apple Support
