music and videos not showing up on ipad

when i connect my ipad to itunes i can transfer movies and music onto the ipad but when i eject the ipad using the eject button they wont show up on my ipad even thought they show up on ipad folder in itunes, i have to snyc my ipad between 2 and 20 times to get them to show up, HELP!
