Backspace key for pages on ipad

Hi,

I’ve recently noticed that I am unable to use my arrow keys and the backspace key when using pages for ipad via a Bluetooth keyboard. I have never had an issue until recently, but am finding it infuriating when typing in the program. It doesn’t appear to occur in any other program which makes the issue more painful. I’ve even tested the other apple suite of programs inc keynote and can use my backspace and arrow keys without a hitch.

Have I changed a setting somewhere without realising, or is it to do with on of the latest updates?

Hey there grokee,

Thanks for taking the time to reach out here in Apple Support Communities. Based on your post it sounds like you're having trouble using your Bluetooth keyboard with Pages on the iPad Pro. Is that correct? We're happy to help.

Have you tried restarting the iPad to see if that helps?

If so, have you checked to make sure that all your apps are updated? Are you running the most recent version of iPadOS?

You can also try and unpair the keyboard, restart the iPad and pair the keyboard back again to test. Also, since this seems to be isolated to Pages, reinstalling the app can also help you get to the bottom of this as well. Should the issue continue you can reach out to Apple Support directly.

I'm not having issues with the program. The program itself is doing what it is mean to. What I'm having an issue with is when using pages, the setup seems to have changed for key control using bluetooth keyboards. Instead of registering a backspace and deleting left it wants to delete whole pages. Instead of letting me use arrow keys to move right/left, up/down, they just won't do anything. The issue isn't happening for any of the other iWorks programs.

From what I've found this was an issue on the MacOS a couple of years ago, but seems to have been rectified. Using the same keyboard I don't have an issue on my mac when using pages either.

I've tried the reboots and the unpairs, but no success. I can't find anywhere to check keyboard settings for the bluetooth keyboard either.
