Can I only download audiobooks to my Apple Watch if I purchased them through the Apple Store? What about books I uploaded from CDs? Or the library? Or Audible? They are all in my iPhone library, but will not show up for my Apple Watch.

It's limited to audiobooks purchased or downloaded though the Books app. Other apps would have to offer their own app.
