Mac Pro (2013 Late) Three Ram Slots Not Working

Apparently this is an issue that Apple has refused to acknowledge. It started with two slots not working and now it is three slots.

I have four 16 GB sticks installed and the Mac reports that three slots are empty. I have switch the sticks around to confirm that all the sticks work.

The contacts are clean and the Mac has never been mistreated.

It looks like Apple is following Dell's footsteps in purposefully building in failure to force upgrades.

We do not want to spend an exuberant amount of money to fix a machine that is not worth the cost. If anyone has a solution to offer, please help me out.

Thank you.

Your issue is FAR more likely to be caused by Failed DIMMs than by bad slots.

You would have less words to eat if you stuck with the symptoms, and left out the editorial.

So, Strevin, you tried each of the four DIMM “sticks” in the single working memory slot.

Is that correct?

In doing so, you verified that all four DIMM “sticks” work correctly, and that only a single memory slot works.

Correct?

If so, did you check the circuit board for issues? (Solder points, “traces” [the conductors printed on the circuit board], “burned” chips, etc.)

Grant Bennet-Alder is correct that «Your issue is FAR more likely to be caused by Failed DIMMs than by bad slots.»

However, the less likely is not, necessarily, impossible.
