My Apple TV remote control will not pair. How do I pair it?

For Apple TV 4th and 5th Gen (4K)

1- Make sure the remote is charged.

2- Hold the remote close to the Apple TV and press MENU and the + button, together at the same time for 7 seconds. You must get a notification on the top right of the screen asking you to bring the remote closer.

3- Place the remote gently on top of the Apple TV device. You will then get a notification that it is now "connected".
