Apple Music explicit content: Belarus

Good afternoon!

I wanted to reach out to somebody from Apple to try and get an update on issue that’s been bugging the whole country.

I’m talking about Explicit content in Apple Music for Belarus users.

this question pops up every now and then but always gets overseen while there is a viable solution to it already.

Apple support explains explicit content not being available due to Belarus regulations.

Apple Music users created an appeal to our local authorities to clarify what kind of regulation is implied when disallowing use of explicit content.

Ministry of Information of Republic of Belarus reviewed the inquiry and replied “there are no actual restrictions on explicit content as Apple INC. isn’t registered as mass media but rather media provider (media providers have no regulations on explicit content applied to them)”

After that they are advising customers to contact Apple directly to let them know that there is no actual restriction on using explicit content.

As you might know, there is no real possibility to contact someone making decisions from Apple, so I though I might as well just create a topic here and hope that it somehow gets elevated to a person who can address this issue or pass it to senior management.

We all, Apple Music customers of Belarus, hope that this everlasting issue can finally be addressed. You won’t believe how many people actually switched to Spotify just because there is no explicit music in Apple Music.
