Accessing old emails stored "On My Mac" remotely

If I do not have my device with emails archived in "On my Mac" folders, is there a way to access them from the cloud? If not, what should I do before leaving on a trip to be able to do so?Guessing I can somehow move these archived emails to the cloud but not sure how to do that.

Copy/move the folders to the "iCloud" section of your mac mail client.
