AirPods not pairing- green blinking light

I just received a new pair of AirPods as a gift from my work. I fully charged the AirPods, followed the connection instructions and the AirPods won’t connect with any device. I notice that the light is flashing green when both AirPods are in the case. I looked everywhere online for a solution but it appears Apple either doesn’t have one or it isn’t online. Yes I have tried to reset the AirPods, but when I hold down the button, it just stays with a white light. Has anyone had this issue and been able to resolve it?

Hi Jstotler32,

We see you're having some issues with setting up your new AirPods. We can certainly understand the need to have your new AirPods working well. We'd be happy to help out.

We noted the light flashes green when both AirPods are in the case. Do you notice any difference if you have just the left, or just the right AirPod in the case?

We also have some helpful steps for what to do when AirPods won't connect that may help out:

If your AirPods won't connect

We hope that helps.

Take care!

Jstotler32,

If we understand things correctly, it blinks green with both in, as well as just the left AirPod in. With just the right one in, it's a solid green, is that right? Also, did you have a chance to try out the link from the prior message? If not, we recommend giving that a shot. Here it is again:

If your AirPods won't connect

Also, have you ever replaced either of the AirPods or the case? Or possibly mismatched one of the AirPods from a prior generation? This part would just apply if you're using the second generation AirPods.

Have a good one.

With the right one in, it is solid green if I remember correctly as the whole thing dies if not plugged in. The left one blinks. The link instructions do not fix my issue. These AirPods are brand new, they have never been linked to a phone, they have never been worn. They have not been mixed up with a prior generation. They just don’t work. I still haven’t learned what the green blinking light means. Based on what I am getting(not getting)in this discussion and the lack of info on a green blinking light, I will assume that at least one of the airpods(most likely left) or the case is broken. I need to know what I do from here. The closest apple store is over an hour away and the line is about 30 people deep just to get inside. Please advise.
