Shared "Streams" and editing capability

Shared Albums is really a Shared Stream - and it does not appear that the functionality has improved since 2016 with regard to editing capabilities (primarily image order).

It is a likely assumption that users will create an album and then want to share that stream with friends and family. Currently, you have to load each image in the order you wish them to display to the shared stream. This is challenging when creating a curated stream from multiple locations. The image order should have the ability to be changed within the shared stream.

Has anyone found a workaround?? Or, my rockstars at Apple, is this in development yet??

Thanks

On an iPhone with iOS 14 you can already sort the photos in a Shared album.

  • Select the Shared album, the tap the (...) menu and select "Sort". You can sort the shared album by "date added", and by the capture date, oldest or newest.

When I do this, it does only the sort order on my iPhone, but not on my Mac or in the web version of the shared album.

Each user can sort the album for the own use, how he or she wants to view it.
