Clearing "Other" Documents from Storage

I have 91.53gb of storage used in the my computer storage that are labeled 'other'. I have googled this and can't really tell what it would be filled with besides my mobile back up (I only have one and know this is 48gb).

Is it Cache's and if so, how do I clear the right ones?

Is there software I should be using or a way to help clear this out?

I hate that I have 250gbs but I only ever have like 20gb to use at any time (photographer so always importing in and out as it fills to quickly)

Hi, welcome to the Apple Users Community.

Have you emptied the trash recently? A restart would probably help and make sure as a photographer, possibly using photoshop maybe, clear your scratch disks or clipboard perhaps.

Best of luck

The Other category is a potpourri of files which include:

• System temporary files

• macOS system folders

• Archives and disk images (.zip, .iso, etc. - often found in the Downloads folder)

• Personal user data

• Files from the user’s library (Application Support, iCloud files, screensavers, etc.)

• Cache files

• Fonts, plugins, extensions

• Other files that are not recognized by a Spotlight search

• Media files that cannot be classified by Spotlight as a media file because they are located inside of a package

The can be anywhere on the hard drive. You can use either of these two free apps, GrandPerspective  or OmniDiscSweeper, to find the largest files on your drive so you can determine if they can be deleted or moved to an external HD for storage.
