Heic Images

iPhoto...My Jpeg images changed to Heic images starting on Jan. 7, 2020...then finally on Sept. 27, 2020 Apple started displaying my picture taking images back to Jpeg, which I am totally thrilled...Thank You! So the images between Jan 7th & Sept 26th are still Heic, which is a problem for me, because I want to use 3 or 4 of those pictures to be displayed on a canvas print...well guess what, the Canvas website won't upload an heic image...I told the Canvas website about the issue but they have No plans to accept the heic images. This Heic thing is also a problem with uploading images within my yahoo emails (I had to go to my gmail to upload an image)...I mentioned this to Verizon a long while ago but nothing was ever done.

So, I googled "instructions to convert an heic to a jpeg"...I evidently didn't do the right thing, I missed something to successfully convert, so frustrating to say the least!!!

I need someone to give me clear step by step instructions, in layman's terms, of how to convert the heic image to a jpeg, so I can go to the Canvas website and upload the images.

Thank You in advance for your help!

Very easy to do via the export process on your mac.

Select the images you want to convert. Then go to the file menu and select export. As shown here.

Then select your options (select jpg, and full size high quality if you are sending for printing). Then you click export, and choose a place to store them. You can then upload them to any website from that location.

To control, how the images are handles on your iPhone or iPad , check out this support document:

Using HEIF or HEVC media on Apple devices - Apple Support

It explains the setting for the Camera.app, controlling if the device will use the space-saving High Efficiency format HEIF, when the photos are taken, also the Settings in the Transfer to Mac or PC section, controlling, if the photos will be converted to JPEG or not.
