Hello nagani,

We'd love to help you find files that were received using AirDrop. They'll be located in either your Downloads folder or the app you saved them to. Check this out.

Thank you Joseph, I found the mp4 file in... Photos. The name was stripped off, Siri does not find it, the preview is black... (Photos is definitely not a good place for movies. I use VLC to access chapters, sound tracks, subtitles)

I copied the Mac file (32 MB) to iCloud>Downloads, it appears in Files>Downloads on iPhone, that’s fine. But a larger (2.24 GB) file does not show up on iPhone. Even more puzzling, if I try to AirDrop this big file, iPhone gives a message that it can’t save to Photos, offering to save to Files>Downloads. This works OK, it preserves the name, it shows the cover art (where Finder and Photos show the first frame, often back) and I can play the movie. But it does not appear on Mac.

Either way I can copy the movies to Files>On my iPhone>VLC where I want them to be in the first place.

Have a nice day!
