Apple ID

I am getting an email message that my Apple ID is blocked because someone is trying to access it or accessing other devices with my Apple ID. I just want to know if this is legit or a scam?

What is the typical verification process for something like this? Do you ever ask for a social security number?

1. It's fake.

2. If an Apple ID actually gets locked or disabled, its owner will be told when they try logging into it; it's possible for one to be disabled in the App Store and iTunes, but not elsewhere.

3. Apple will only ask customers for it if someone is verifying their identity while setting up Apple Pay Cash.
