Picture-in-picture not working on iOS 14

I'm playing videos on safari or chrome and trying this but whenever I press that and go to the home screen it doesn't show the mini video screen. Instead, it’ll go back to the regular video screen. Say on YouTube, I’d press that first then as soon as it gets out of full-screen mode, it instantly just goes back to the open YouTube video layout. It worked the first time I updated my phone but now it’s not.
