where is the microphone on an ipad pro 12, 11 inch, 2019?
and a link to the tech specs like the answer to the question in july i found does nothing to tell me where the mic is, just what it is

The original iPad Pro 11 inch was released October 30, 2018. The 2nd generation was released March 18, 2020. I'm not sure which you are referring to. The specs for the 2nd generation are at https://www.apple.com/ipad-pro/specs/ and the five microphone locations are shown in the excerpt below:
