How to remove the activation lock when you don't have proof of purchase?

the previous owner needs to figure it out, otherwise the phone will be of no use.

and once he figures that out, he can reset his password
did you buy the iPhone used? You would need help from the previous owner

From what I'm understanding, your iPhone is activation locked by the previous owner and the previous owner is unable to remove the activation lock or you do not have the ability to contact the previous owner.
If this is all true.. then what QuickTimeKirk is telling you is simply reality, even though that might be discouraging to you. Activation lock is an anti-theft feature that cannot be bypassed.
Recycle it. You will never be able to use it.
I bought from a store. So there nthg of him in the phone. It's only phn I got I forgot my password and dont hav access to the email which I used. So I was asked for proof of purchase. Which I can't get it and I don't have. But it's really imp that I get that lock out.. becoz all my pictures and contacts will be gone. I really need help
The owner can't help because he doesn't remember it's been over 6years and he can't give the receipt now..
