Why does only one song in purchased album require new authorization to play?

Welcome and thanks for your post. It sounds like you needed to authorize playing a specific song within an album in iTunes. Allow us to help out.


If the entire album was purchased together using one Apple ID, then it should be authorized to be used on your associated devices. Make sure your computer is authorized: Authorize or deauthorize your computer for iTunes Store purchases


In case you purchased a single before the album was released and this authorization error happens when you play the single within that album, try removing that album (with the single) and download it again from your past purchases: Redownload music


Should it persist, do you have this issue on other associated devices using the same Apple ID?

Thanks karina184 for the helpful response to my question.

I figured out that I could simply right click on the song in question and remove the download. Then I could download the one song again. It works and now I have all of the songs I purchased.

Seems there was a glitch during the download of the entire album.
