Safari (& others) graphics issues

I'm seeing occasional odd behaviour on my browsers (Safari, Edge & Chrome) on my 2019 MBP Pro but not my 2012 iMac, both running Catalina 10.15.7. The webpage display is mangled (see attached grab). If it happens on one browser it's the same on all of them, Clearing cache/restarting the browser does not clear it. Restarting the MBP usually does. As it's the same across all browsers I conclude it must be some common graphics driver issue. Has anyone seen this and managed to pin it down and fix it?

Thanks.

I think disabling hardware acc is a workaround, but not a solution.

Does the issue occur in safemode?

No? Probably software related. Installed any new third-party software?

Check login items.

Maybe resetting NVRAM might help:

If it is software related, it might even be a general issue with the macos, in which case you either update or have to wait for a new update (contact Apple Support).
