How can I connect my iPhone 11 to my new 16" MacBook Pro (USB-C)?

Greetings -- I just got a new 16" Apple Macbook Pro with USB-C ports, but don't understand how to connect my iPhone 11 or my iPad Pro to this computer for charging and moving photos from my phone to my computer.

I've Googled the heck out of this, but get overwhelmed pretty quickly with different adapters, cords, and ports.

If this reminds you of showing your grandparents for the 5th time how to send an email attachment, please forgive me.

Is there a path of least resistance for connecting these devices?

I'd be grateful for any advice.

It's pretty simple. You need a USB C to Lightning cable.
