can't update Catalina version 10.15.7 after I restart the update still there

Any Backup Prior to this Install?:


Take this as a Learning Experience:

If there are no backups prior to this install, know to always backup. prior to updating. That way, you will have something to restore your device from, should anything go wrong after the install. Use a hard drive of at least 1.5 times the storage capacity of your builtin hard drive.

It is a bit older of an update fix (10.15.4), but some of its solutions may do the trick.


A Few Thoughts From this Link:

A. iCloud: Comment #8

Try signing out of iCloud account. Next, sign back in to iCloud


B. Terminal Command: Comment #5

defaults delete com.apple.systempreferences AttentionPrefBundleIDs; killall Dock


C. Terminal Command: Comment #51

1. Run this in Terminal:

rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.preferences.softwareupdate.plist

2. Boot into Safe Mode

3. Boot Normally
