iPhone 8 extreme lag

Hi!

Whenever I plug in earphones, an aux or connect to speakers or wireless headphones with my iPhone 8 the phone almost immediately starts to lag like crazy, making it barely usable. If I leave the phone locked the music stops playing by itself and the Spotify app just crashes and restarts. It's quite annoying because whenever I am traveling or working out, etc, I constantly have to stop and re-start my music or I can't use the cellphone simultaneously because the lag makes the phone just freeze. What should I do? Thanks.

Hi Jordan1839,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand you're having some issues with your iPhone performance when connected for audio output. That's definitely something we'd be looking into ourselves, and we'd like to assist.

To clarify a few points, is this happening with Spotify specifically, or with the built-in Music app also?

Also, if you connect headphones or an audio device without music playing, does the same thing happen?

Which iOS version are you using under Settings > General > About?

Under Settings > Battery > Battery Health, do you see any alerts there?

As a general starting point, the steps here could also be helpful: About iOS performance on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Let us know if that works for you.

Take care.
