Cannot enter password on my MacBook Pro. Already reset my password on my my Mac Computer and Iphone. I use the code set on my phone but it will not let me in. How should the numbers be entered after the password?

There will not be another box that comes up. You will need to enter the verification code directly after your password. You will enter both the password and the verification code in the same text field.

I tried that several ways and it did not work. I tried it with a space between, no space between, and no space between the numbers. Any suggestions?
The box for the authentication code never pops up after entering my password. I am running OS X 10.9.5. I do not have any software updates available for my computer according to Apple.
