Connecting to a Benq EW3270U monitor but says device has no output controls

Trying to play sound through Benq monitor and Apple TV either mirrors screen with no sound or plays sound without the screen. Using a USB-c to HDMI cable.

any ideas as under preferences/sound it says the monitor has no output controls

Mac mini won't connect to viewsonic monitor I have a Mac mini and had it connected to the TV via HDMI. I bought a viewsonic monitor and usbc to displayport cable. No signal message using the cable. Hooked it up to monitor with the HDMI cable and it worked fine.
