My ipad is not charging using non apple products but does not show an alert that it is not a supported accessory

The cord of my apple charger had been damaged for a while but still working. Today, it suddenly stopped charging my ipad. I tried using non apple chargers but my ipad still won't charge but there is no alert stating that the chargers are not supported. Is my ipad's charging port damaged or do I only need to buy a new charger?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 14

it could be

  1. dirt and lint in the connector I had to use a toothpick or match to clear out to get many of my ios devices to charge again
  2. could be the cable
  3. and as you say it could also be the charging port which is defect or periodic defect

I would start with 1 for troubleshooting
