ATT Fiber Optic /modem cut out issues, solved

I have ATT 1G up/down Fiber internet. The first day within a few hours after the installation the internet would cut out.

I installed a cooling fan with a filter to blow against the OTS ( fiber optic modem). It works normal no cut outs every since. I posted this on ATT site and someone tried it and confirmed what I did takes care of the issue.

I asked ATT to give me another OTS so I could experiment with heat sinks but never heard anything back.

Note, adding a cooling also seams to help ATT modem they provide to talk to the OTS.

I interesting enough I tried the ATT brand new wireless that came with the fiber install but after testing it compared to my 10 year old Apple Extreme, the Apple Extreme blew theirs away. So I turned off the ATT wireless and and use Apple Extreme.

it is amazing that the OTS can’t survive staying on at normal room temperature without a fan cooling it but it is a lazer. At work we would cool are lasers with liquid Nitrogen but this one probably just needs a big heat sink.
