iPhone XR call quality

Updated iPhoneXR to 14.0.1 but the other person still cannot hear me well, still garbled/muffled or cutting out, they can only hear me if i face the bottom microphone directly to my mouth when speaking. Works fine if i'm on speaker mode though, also ok with headphones, wireless earbuds. Facetime audio, FB Messenger, Viber all works well when phone is used normally over the ear. Issue is only when calling using the carrier and using the phone over the ear. Doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. Audio/Video records well using front and back cameras, voice memo is also good.

Did not have this problem with my 7 plus and 8 plus.


TS done:

Used different Sim Cards and Carrier - no go

Noise cancellation off - no go

hearing aid compatibility on - no go

Enable LTE/VoLTE - no go

Reset network settings - no go

Factory Reset - no go

If the above options do not mitigate the issues then Contact your carrier and then Contact Apple Support

Hi, all of those were already done and as i have mentioned, issue occurs only when holding the phone over the ear on normal calls using the carrier, but OK on speaker mode, and other head/earphones, Should eliminate the carrier issue here.... when using other apps, including facetime,messenger, viber and still holding phone over the ear is all good, which eliminates the microphone issue. Not sure if the regular calls affect the mic as this is the only call method having issues
