IOS is freezing after unlocking the screen

At this point, we would like you to reinstall iOS on your iPhone; this will help us isolate the situation further. Reinstalling iOS should not affect any of your data, but it is always a best practice to make sure you have a current backup in either iTunes or iCloud.

Next, use your Mac or PC to backup and restore your iOS software to factory settings, as this process erases the information and settings on your device and installs a fresh copy of the latest iOS software. Temporarily set up your phone as new to test your issues, and then restore your back up and test the issues again.

I have the exact same problem, but not just on a 6s or 7. it does happen on my iPhone 8 as well. When it happens I see 100% cpu usage and after some

time it stops lagging.

When I use the same backup on an iPhone X or newer, there are never any lags after unlocking the phone.

it must be a bug in ios 14 with touch ID, cause I never had such lags on older ios versions.

Please Apple fix this problem. It‘s still there in 14.4. and it is very annoying

I’ve got the same issue on my iphone 7 (26 feb 2021). My firmware is ios 14.4. I’ve been experiencing this issue since the very first time i updated my device to ios 14. It’s really annoying and i really wanna get rid of that issue. Please fix this issue.

As mentioned by @yuriy_Z, I am also facing the same issue with my iPhone 7, tried resetting the factory settings, and also restored my phone, still no fix to the responsiveness of the screen while unlocking.

I have the same problem. !!! My device is iphone 7 32 gb and i have this problem since ios 13.4 or 13.5..... I am using ios 14.4 now. When i try the unlock my phone with touch id, my screen is laggy for 3-5 seconds. After 3-5 seconds its fixed. I have already factory reset my phone, or already connect pc and factory reset with itunes but it isnt fixed. Please fix this problem apple!!!!!!

Guys i have a temporally solution

don’t wake your phone by touch id try raise to wake or press power button to wake the screen them touch id to unlock

it dramatically lower the chance of getting lag but still anoying for a busy guy like me to have an extra step before using my phone
