how do I take the activation lock off my iPad its a old iPad I haven't used in years and its a old Apple ID that I don't remember

Without the Apple ID and Password used to set up the device, you will not be able to use it again. We can't help and Apple will not help unless you can produce the original receipt clearly showing the serial number. These links may help...
