Assuming it has been activated you can use it to add funds to your Apple ID, which will allow you to purchase content from the iTunes Store up to the face value. You don't have to spend it all at once. Any method of exchanging a gift card or its code for cash with a stranger is likely to result in one party being at risk of fraud.
