Can true tone be disabled only on external screens?
Can true tone be disabled only on external screens?
Hi there Kashkas,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you have some questions about True Tone on your Mac. True Tone is available on some external monitors, but not all. Where available, if you turn on True Tone it applies to the Mac screen and the external monitor. Learn more here: Use True Tone on your Mac.
We hope this helps!

You just linked how to activate true tone, I’m asking if there is a way, to have true tone activated on internal screen (like screen on macbook pro) and disabled on an external screen, to avoid the bad color on the external screen
It sounds very sad.
I especially want to turn off True Tone only for external display.
If it is impossible, can we automatically turn off True Tone when we connect to external display?
Lmk if you figure this out. I've had the same question for a while now. There's got to be a way to script this..
What I ended up doing was replicating true tone color scheme on the macbook screen and leaving true tone disabled.
Hi again Kashkas,
We apologize if we weren't clear. True Tone is either on for all screens or off for all screens. It cannot be on for one screen but off for the other.
We hope this makes more sense!
