Can we still not add a contact to a group text message?

Any update on this problem? I have a group chat with eight people not all of which are Apple users, and I cannot add.

Group Chat I started a group chat on iMessage, right now it has 9 people. I am trying to add more members to the group, however the add a contact button is not there. Does anyone know why? Or how to fix this issue?

Issue with group message texts after update When I click on messages app and I hit new message, if I type in a group contact name, it will not come up. I have to enter each person in individually. This just happened with the most recent update. How do I fix this?
