iphoto to photos after IOS upgrade

Hi, I seem to have lost some of my iphoto events (all after 2009) when the iPhoto library migrated from iPhoto to photos but I can't find the newer events. So some events migrated while the others didn't. Is there a way I can open iPhoto in the new IOS and get hold of the rest of the events? Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Make sure, you are opening the most recent iPhoto Library in Photos. Photos should automatically open the iPhoto Library you have used last with iPhoto, but it may not have been able to open it, if your iPhoto Library has not been in your Pictures folder or has been on an unsupported external volume.

You can see the location of the Photos Library in the Photos > Preferences > General, at the top of the panel.

Do you have more than one iPhoto Library?

To check this, quit Photos if it is running.

  • Then hold down the options key ⌥ while launching Photos again.
  • Release the options key, when you are seeing the Library chooser dialog.

Is there more than on library shown? Select all libraries in turn. The bottom of the panel will show you the location of the selected library.

Select the largest library to open in Photos. Does it have all photos you want in your system photo library?

  • If it is the library you want to use, open the Photos > Preferences > General.
  • In the General tab click "Use as System Photo Library."

This will make the library the System Photo Library and Photos will create previews for the photos, so you can see them in all applications in the Media Browser, that are compatible with Photos.
