I'm on a deadline here and everything that has gone wrong in Logic has gone wrong.. I woke up this morning to find the record button missing, i've tried everything that i've read on google and nothing works , please help
Right-Clic on the Control Bar > Customize... Is Record ticked under Transport?

Yes, it is related to screen size, it's dynamic.
In the screenshot of the OP one can see
1. the Logic window does not have the full size of the screen.
2. (too) many elements in the control bar related to the size of the window.
With small screens or non-retina Macs it makes sense to reduce the number of elements in the control bar, and only use those that are actually needed.
BTW, it's easy to test, just lower the size of the Main Window...

Yes I knew that. What I'm referring to are the exact rules that makes one Bar component hidden or not. It behaves strangely sometime.
