I need to remove an unauthorized passcode from this device

The device for this account is for a business account. The previous user's employment has been terminated, however he changed the passcode without permission and we are unable to restore the phone for use by a new employee. How do I remove this passcode so that I can complete a factory reset?

If it's just a matter of the passcode, follow the instructions here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204306


If it's activation locked to their Apple ID and won't cooperate in removing the activation lock, you will have to provide Apple with the original proof of purchase to have the activation lock removed.


In the future, consider enrolling in Apple's Business manager program and using an MDM to manage company owned devices.
