HOw to update Watch0s 7 for series 2 Iwatch

I have series 2 Iwatch. Seems WatchOS 7 is not compatible to ewatch devices below series 3.

Is there a way to apply higher versions of OS or this is a plan from Apple to phase out series 2

Series 2 apple watch will only update to WatchOS6,this watch was discontinued a long time ago.
