My Mac Airbook won’t stay on. The tech support person on the phone didn’t help. Any ideas to help me get it to work normally?

Push the control, shift, option & power simultaneously for 10 seconds. It turned on, but shut off in a short time
I understand your Mac spontaneously shuts down on its own and contacting Apple Support did not help. What actions the tech support person recommend?
My Mac Airbook has been difficult to power on. When it does turn on, it shuts off after a few minutes. I talked to a tech support person who didn’t give me much help. Any ideas? Or is it time to get a new computer?
