Activating iPhone 12 Pro

Finally managed to get old SIM card into the phone. Keep the metal contacts of the SIM card up and it should fit into the phone. And the phone does recognize the old card, however, Verizon immediately sent me the following text:

”We noticed you switched the SIM card in your 5G device. To get access to the full benefits of 5G, please use the pre-installed 5G SIM card that came with your device. If you’re unable to locate the original 5G SIM card or did not receive one, visit http://verizon.com/support/contact-us to contact us for help in completing your activation.” Since my 5G SIM card was unable to activate the phone, I will be contacting the tomorrow to see what the problem was.

At 1 AM I tried one more time to insert the 5G SIM card into the phone. Got the ‘Activating Please Wait’ message and a few minutes later a text from Verizon saying the phone was activated. So 7 hours after first trying to activate the phone they were finally able to do it. They’re just swamped is all. No big whoop.

You should just be able to take the SIM out of your old iPhone and insert it into the new one.

I ordered from Apple for Verizon connectivity, The SIM card that came with the phone is different than old SIM card. One won’t fit into the other.

The SIM cards are identical, the SIM trays are not. I’m still trying to fit the older card into the phone,.
