Catalina on Mac often does not restart

My new iMac with Catalina os fails to restart often when "restart" is selected. The apps disappear and the background stays on the screen, and the only course is to turn off the iMac in the back. I remember on my old MacPro there was a key combination with the on off switch which restarted the computer. Any solutions? Is this a problem with Catalina?

Follow the steps in: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

If the situation is not improved after completing the Safe Mode start, and subsequent normal restarts, try downloading/installing the macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Combo Update.

You are using a lot of Extensions which might prevent your system to showdown or restart. Etrecheck report shows various driver extensions for Seagate, Western Digital, Lacie RAID and ParagonNTFS. It looks like you have migrated to Catalina without upgrading your Third-Party software. Some of your aplications seems to be outdated or incompatible with Catalina. CleanmyMac installs adware and slows down your computer. Flash Player is no longer needed. It's an insecure and dangerous piece of software. As recommended you should uninstall them. Uninstall Adobe Flash Player, Uninstall CleanmyMac
