I'm concerned I ruin the watch exposing it to water... I hear you to close up all the openings, but how do you know for certain you have accomplished that... other than if the watch still works then you must have been successful and then if the watch does not work then you must have missed a port or the covering you placed on a port did not seal... IDK that's too risky for me. I did try using warm water and a tooth brush to put water on the side that will not release. I also tried dental floss... I've spent hours over multiple days trying my self to get the band to release... it's not for lack of trying. Then two (2) jewelers tried to get it off as well. I got the impression they were a bit surprised they were unable to get the band to release. Thanks for the ideas, but I am just not willing to risk it. I made an appointment with the Apple Store, but the earliest I can get an appointment is Thursday October 29th... When you get hooked on the biometrics of the iWatch it's not something I like to go without... I continue to use it with the old band... although it's nearly broken and I hope it does not fall off at the wrong time/place to lose or damage it. This situation in my estimation is a design flaw of the iWatch. Not only that but the iWatch bands, which the one that is stuck is an Apple iWatch band, costs like $50.... which is incredibly expensive given a non-Apple watch band is like $10-$15.
