Should location-specific iPhone models be sold at different prices?

Hello Apple community,

I am planning on upgrading my current iPhone to a iPhone 11.

Upon going to an Apple reseller (There is no official Apple/iStore in this country), they were selling the iPhone 11 at 2 different prices based on the location the phone is modelled for.

The US/EU model (Model A2111) was going for 7.14% higher than the Asia/China model (A2223) which I find a bit absurd especially since they're supposed to be the exact same phone.

I asked for the difference and why one was priced higher and the seller's reasoning was because on the A2223 model you can't switch off the camera's shutter sound.

I am a student so the price difference for me is weird.

Any Apple Authorized seller won’t have whole sale access to models other than the specific models for where they are located. So if your shopping at a seller with foreign model iPhones for sale, they are not an Apple authorized seller, and those devices won’t be truly new (I.e. never sold at retail before) as that seller had to acquire them from the regions they were originally sold in.

It doesn’t matter if he had them purchased and shipped to him without ever coming out of the box. The warranty will only be valid in the country where they were originally sold new by Apple or an actual Apple Authorized seller, and the warranty will have begun on the date of that original retail sale.

Authorized sellers can be found using Apple’s tool -> https://locate.apple.com/. (Change the country as needed). And if a seller is not listed there, they are not Apple Authorized, regardless of whatever they tell you.
