Phantom email.

Ok, my iCloud email account on the native iOS mail app is showing a badge app icon saying one new email.

However, when opening the app the inbox shows no mail at all but at the bottom of the screen it still says 1 unread email.

I’ve tried deleting the app, force restarting my phone and even sent mail from another account and then making sure I read it before deleting but every time the phantom notification returns.

Getting on my nerves now.

iPhone SE, iOS 14

Hello bay243,

It sounds like you are seeing the unread email badge on your Mail icon but unable to see any unread mail in the inbox. Since it is your iCloud account that shows the unread message, you can go to www.icloud.com and check to see if there are any messages there.

If there are no messages there, you can also try going to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud, and turn off Mail. Once you've done that, switch it back on.

Hope this helps.
