What is the best way of earning points in the community? I have just started and am at 16 points and I see people with like 100,000 points. How do I become like them?

You answer questions. FWIW, it will take a long time. We are not allowed to ask or hint for points and only the original poster can award them. Most of us “old timers” or regulars have been here for quite a while and, since points really do not result in anything besides the count going up, we help because we want to help, not because we get more points. My personal opinion: points are pointless; I am here because I enjoy learning myself and share whatever knowledge I can.

I have come for the same reason, I do not want to turn this into a game but keep it a community. I was just wondering what they were because it showed how you get perks for getting more points, I do not want to look like a person trying only for points either I would just like to have those perks so I could help even more. Thanks for understanding, see you around.

You knowledge counts in solving threads , in the initial levels solve basic questions just an example in Mac start with finder questions / how to set home page etc , read as much threads solved answers / AR , try to clear the concepts , go slow and steady .

Answer only few questions each day , read the questions thoroughly ( each and every word ) , think about it , try the solution in your apple product Mac / iPhone ... the question asked for the related device .

You must solve the question in one shot and give your 100 % don't give possible answers .

Select those questions that you are sure for its solution don't go with difficult ones .

Your answers are read by moderators , giving incorrect solutions continuously will alert them and your account might be terminated .

Always read the terms of use of this forum and follow it , in the bottom of this page click on it every rule is mentioned , never post irrelevant personal photos / mail address / serial number of Mac / iPhone if you answer a thread and op didn't replied wait for it / never post for the second time unless op asks .

You will gain points slowly , it doesn't matter how much you gained in short time I have seen many members posting and posting day and night .

Your fresh and healthy mind will work when you take rest / and have a good nap .

It has been my observation that people who do this for points don't stay around very long. Do it because you enjoy doing it.

In my opinion, the biggest perk one gets is being part of a community of smart, helpful people. When you get to Level 6, you get access to some special forums where you can interact even more directly with people. Other than that, the points don't mean a whole lot. I did especially enjoy being Level 9, though, because the logo looks like a radiation warning.
