iPhone12 on a 4G SIM Card

Hello, I want to upgrade to the new iPhone 12 Pro but utilize Straight Talk as my carrier. Can I buy a Straight Talk 4G card and use it in the new iPhone 12 Pro? I understand I won’t be able to connect to the 5G network but will it still work on the LTE network?

I have the iPhone 12 pro and use straighttalk. I never had any issues with service, all functionality you mentioned was there. Also, I disabled 5g auto and set it to LTE because I don’t have 5g access but even when it was enabled the service worked. I live in southern Michigan

Hi , just purchased an iPhone 12 pro to replace my 6s from o2. It came with a 5g SIM card I cannot receive or make calls! First they said my sim needed activated which they did and it made no difference after a second phone call they said I need a 4g SIM card because I live in an area that does not receive 5g yet! I wrongly assumed that a 5g SIM card would work with 2,3,4 or 5g but apparently not. I just wish they’d told me this first time round.

regards SMUDGER.

I ordered the Verizon compatible SIM card from Straight Talk and tried to activate my iPhone 12 Pro today. It wouldn’t work. I called Straight Talk and the first person transferred me because my phone is unlocked. The second person said I needed a 5G SIM card. I then went on their website in search of a 5G card. Couldn’t fine one so connected to the chat line. The rep there sent me a link to what she said would work on my phone. The link went to a 4G card that look like the same card I already have. She told me “if it doesn’t work call us back”. I may have to switch carriers. Any suggestions?
