iPhone 12 not getting notifications

I set up my new device, and my notification settings are turned on and the same as my previous phone, but I am not getting notifications on the new device. My old device, connected to Wi-Fi, is getting notifications. Again the settings I checked and they are all the same on both devices.

Can someone please help me to get my notifications?

Thank you

  1. Go to General > iOS Storage.
    • On some older iOS versions, it is called Storage & iCloud Usage.
    • If you select that option, choose Manage Storage on the next page.
  1. Tap the Hangouts app from the list to see how much space the app is taking up
    • It should show how much space is the app itself or just its associated documents and data.
  1. Select Delete App
  2. Confirm it once more to remove the app from your iOS device.
  3. Go to iTunes store and install Hangouts iOS app
  4. Accept all permissions.
  5. Test.
  6. If you still have issues, send in-app feedback from the classic Hangouts app.

I had similar issue on iOS 14.3 - new iPhone 12 Mini not getting notifications; old iPhone 7 getting notifications. I got them working again (hopefully this is fixed long-term) by using Google account to sign out of my old phone. So I opened Gmail -> hamburger menu -> Settings -> click on email address -> Manage google account -> Security -> Your devices -> iPhone 7 -> Sign Out.

Not sure if this will be relevant to those missing out on non-logged in apps like CNN, but thought i'd share just in case.

I was hopeful iOS 14.4 would solve the problem, however I still do not get notifications from Instagram on my iPhone 12 Pro. I do get notifications from my other apps, and I always have. I have deleted and reinstalled Instagram several times. I have checked and all the settings are the same as on my iPad and I do get notifications from Instagram on the iPad. I was wondering if iOS 14.4 has fixed the notification problem for anyone?

I have a new iPhone 12 and new I-watch 6 and was having the same problem. I transferee all my iPhone 6 information with iTunes backup and restore. Then on both iPhone 12 and on I-watch 6 I was no longer getting “notifications” from email on either device. I have used the same Hotmail address for 20 years. In Setting>Mail>Accounts>Hotmail, I deleted the Hotmail address then in “Add Account” added” a new account from the choices listed on the iPhone. I chose Outlook, then reentered my old Hotmail address. Problem was solved.

I was having the same issue regarding notification settings. I was used to getting the banner when text messages or other apps would come through. I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max. You have to go into settings- then notifications- and you must click on each app that you want to receive notifications for... ie. Instagram , then click on banner - and then choose permanently. That fixed my issue with text messages. Click on sms app, then choose banner and permanently.

I hope this helps.

My new iPhone 12 mini is doing the same thing most of the time; however sporadically I will receive a text message notification from someone then not from that same person another time. I have not made any changes to any of my settings nor have i upgraded from iOS 14.3 VERY DISPLEASED with my new iPhone. THIS WOULD NOT BE HAPPENING IF STEVE JOBS WAS STILL ALIVE!

Not getting any text notifications on my iPhone 12 pro or Apple Watch series 6. Both the latest in hardware from the company and for some reason I'm getting the most basic of functionality bugs. Checked all my settings, have been searching online for any fixes and tried those, and have reset my phone. Nothing has worked. Texts become pretty useless when you don't get any notifications that you receive them. This really needs to be addressed. I just switched over from a Pixel phone to this and it's not making me want to stay.
