thunderbolt 3 on mac mini 2018

Hello i just notice that when i connect to usb-c thunderbolt 3 via a adapter for normal usb devices such as apple superdrive or external drive or even a flash memory stick nothing is happening seem the 4 thunderbolt 3 port do nothing.

is there something i am missing?

The https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MJ1M2AM/A/usb-c-to-usb-adapter adaptor should work.


Try resetting the SMC first.

Then if possible, try that adapter on another TB3/USB-C Mac.

If that doesn’t work, you may have gotten a faulty adapter and need to get a replacement.


Also note, that there are loads of aftermarket USB-C to USB adapters that will work.
