Can an iPad upgrade be removed?

My iPad upgraded to the iPadOS 14.1 and half of my apps don’t work. Can it be uninstalled?

In general, it is not possible to restore an earlier version of iOS/iPadOS.

However, a short window of opportunity exists (typically a few days), following release of a new version, to restore the immediately preceding version - but only whilst both versions are still being digitally signed-by Apple. As such, at time of writing, it is technically possible to restore iPadOS 14.0.1.

You should note that if you are experiencing App compatibility issues, restoring iOS/iPadOS 14.0.1 is unlikely to address any difficulties that you may have.

I don’t think it’s Facebook. The OP didn’t say which iPad he has; mine is an iPad Air 2. iPadOS 14.1 has practically bricked my iPad and I’m not happy. Every app is slower. Facebook, Realtor.com, NYTimes app, and others go into a fugue state for up to a minute at times, and then suddenly replay all the excess jabs I’ve made at the keyboard in the interim. Apps that are in a group container on the Home Screen won’t open. I have to pretend I’m editing the Home Screen, open the container, stop the edit process to be able click on the app. Apps quit when I try to start them, or they freeze, forcing me a couple of times to restart the iPad.

Every single aspect of using the iPad is worse than it was before.

I know that 14.2 is out now, but I don’t know if it’ll make it better worse. Anybody else? Thoughts?
