I have a smart keypad (for my 7th gen iPad )that is a year old but is coming apart at the sides, I may not buy another, any one els had this problem.

There is nothing on the apple website called a key pad.
Do you mean Smart Keyboard?

A lot of people have reported it coming across, but it's common because of how it's used. Apple won't replace it
