The first thing I suggest to new printer purchasers is to see if the model is supported in Apple's AirPrint support built into the operating system. If the device is AirPrint supported (it may even state that fact in its advertising), then you are not dependent on the printer vendor for future driver support. The second consideration is toner replacement cost, and how much is provided with the printer in the box.
