HPDeviceMonitoring. framework

Starting yesterday I have been receiving the message "HPDeviceMonitoring.framework" will damage your computer" on my MacBook Pro running macOS Catalina 10.15.7. I have been using this HP Envy 7640e All-in-one to print and scan for the past few years without any issues. Now, when I attempt to scan, the message "Scanner reported an error - Failed to open a connection to the device". The last time the HP app was updated was 2017. I tried resetting the printing system but that didn't help.
